Created for an exhibition at Takeo Aoyama Mihoncho, this series of posters documents the final game of the 1993 Japan Series between the Yakult Swallows and the Seibu Lions. The collection consists of 18 individual posters, each representing either the top or bottom of one of the nine innings—referred to in Japanese baseball as Omote (the front) and Ura (the back).
The letters and numbers at the top and bottom of each poster denote the team names and scores. The numbers on the left indicate the batting order, the centre represents the fielding positions, and the right shows the player jersey numbers. Each specific play—be it a strikeout or a hit—has been transformed into a unique graphic expression.
Taking advantage of the creative freedom afforded by an exhibition setting, I sought to evoke a sense of "uninterpretable unease" rather than striving for clear visual communication. The inspiration came from an image accidentally generated by a Photoshop error during another project. By intentionally incorporating this serendipity—something lying beyond human rationale and logic—into the poster format, this work became a personal experiment in exploring the uncontrollable realms of design.

1993年日本シリーズ第7戦、ヤクルトスワローズ対西武ライオンズの試合の結果を元に、全9イニングの表と裏、計18枚のポスターで構成している。
各ポスターの上下に配したアルファベットと数字はチーム名と得点。左の数字は打順、中央は守備位置、右は背番号。三振やヒットといった一打席ごとの結果を、それぞれ独自のグラフィックへと変換した。
展示のポスターであることをいいことに、明快なヴィジュアルコミュニケーションを図るというよりは、一種の「解読不能な違和感」を生み出すことを試みている。
制作のヒントになったのは、別の仕事の作業中にたまたまPhotoshopのエラーで生成された画像。人間による合理的な「意図」や「ロジック」の外側にある偶発性を、ポスターという形式へ意図的に落とし込むことで、デザインにおける制御不能な領域を探る、私的な実験の結果がこの形となった。
